Attended Direct Cremation

£1,695.00

Overview

An attended Direct Cremation is similar to an unattended Direct Cremation but provides the family with an opportunity for up to six mourners to say their final goodbyes and to spend a few moments with the coffin in private in our Chapel of Rest. This can be arranged at a mutually agreed time which can include evenings if you prefer.

There is an opportunity for music to be played in the Chapel and, if desired, your Funeral Director will lead a short blessing of the coffin. We will deliver your loved ones ashes to your home at a time and date suitable for you or arrange scattering or interment of ashes within the Crematoriums Garden of Remembrance.

In recent years, unattended direct cremations have become an increasingly popular choice.
But here at Bespoke funeral care we offer a hybrid of a direct cremation and a funeral service.

We call it “Attended Direct cremation”. This option offers a straightforward and cost-
effective alternative to traditional funerals without the fuss and pomp of having a hearse,
limousines, pall bearers, order of service booklets.

Those who choose a attended Direct Cremation will receive exactly the same professional,
dignified and high-quality care that we offer all our families.

What is an attended Direct Cremation?

An attended direct cremation provides the family with an opportunity for up to six mourners to
say their final goodbyes and to spend a few moments with the coffin in private in our Chapel of
Rest. This can be arranged at a mutually agreed time which can include evenings if you prefer.
We carry out a small and intermit service at our funeral home, where you can have a couple of
pieces of music, a short eulogy about the loved one’s life along with any poems, tributes or
prayers. This normally only lasts around 20min on average.

WHATS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE?

ADDITIONS INCLUDED TO THE ATTENDED DIRECT CREMATION PACKAGE:

The Process of Unattended Direct Cremation

Arrangements and Legal Requirements:

Registration of Death: As with all funerals, the first step is to register the death and obtain a death certificate and the necessary cremation paperwork. You will have to register the passing in the area where they have passed and not necessarily where they live.

Transfer and Preparation:

Collection of the loved one: Our bespoke funeral care arranger will arrange the collection of your loved one from the place of passing, such as a hospital, hospice, nursing home or home.

Preparation: The loved one is prepared for cremation in either their own clothing or in a funeral gown, typically without embalming, and placed in a simple, respectful coffin.

Cremation:

No Service: The cremation takes place without a preceding funeral service or attendees. Your loved one will be taken to the crematorium by one of our funeral directors, normally early morning. This is carried out with the same respect and dignity as any other cremation. You will be informed of the date the cremation will take place so a moment of reflection can take place.

Ashes Collection and Return:

Collection of Ashes: After the cremation, the ashes are collected and either delivered to the family home buy our funeral director or the family can collect them from Bespoke funeral care. You can choose to keep them, scatter them in a meaningful location, have them interred into an ashes plot or existing grave or placing them in a columbarium. Some families hold additional memorial services or ceremonies to scatter them and hold a private memorial later.
